Good stuff! Interesting! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and some of the process! Very informative to me, a guy who cannot sing or even clap at the same time when I make a joyful noise! You could say I am musically stupid! Please keep this coming...enjoyed! Cooper will certainly enjoy as well!

I dig it! Great idea Derrick! Love to see the mind of an artist. If making transitions seamless is accidental then accidental works. I can't wait to hear and learn more insight into your process. Thanks so much for sharing with us!!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback. We'll see how this progresses.

Great idea Derrick. My church is, I believe, stuck in a worship rut. The songs are repeated too frequently and because of that the meaning tends to water down after the 30th time. We all appreciate your valuable time.

Thanks for the 'behind the scenes' I love doing experience prep because I get to have an early listen to awesome worship. Those graphics for the song this weekend were neato too!

- Yeah, it's a hard balance for me. I do the same song 6 times during a weekend and have to realize that someone most likely has only heard it once...if they were even there that week!

- I sometimes really hope that there is a measure of grace applied when those in the auditorium setting up hear the band's discussion and process. Thanks for volunteering every week!

how appropriate that as i made my way to your blog today, you've unveiled your first worship confession.

i'm a closest blog reader [not currently blogging] but have kept up with ragamuffinsoul, flowerdust and many others.

as for it being appropriate, i was going to commend you on the set for this previous weekend... very wonderful. especially Jesus paid it all.

i attend lifechurch.tv tulsa, but will be headed to UCO in the fall for video production and have had some wonderful emails and calls with the video producers on staff there in edmond.

like i said, wonderful set.
thanks for using your talent to lead others in worship.

and if you are wondering, my name is brandon irby.

have a wonderful week.

Derrick,

Enjoyed the vlog. Not personally having any skills in music and no experience leading worship, I enjoyed getting a picture of the artistic and spiritual "behind the scenes" of your set.

Thumbs up! Keep up the "confessions"

Great idea and very informative. When I serve as an usher and people walk in hearing songs like "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins they are a bit surprised but I can tell on their faces they are more relaxed and more apted to say...I'll give this church a try. Thanks for your thoughts on what goes into choosing the songs to perform each week...very cool! Oh and BTW great set on Sunday! :)

all I can say is you are my second favorite LC worship pastor and you know I'm married to my first. So that's saying a lot.

I was a huge fan of that! I loved how you took the time to explain how you pick a set! You get an A!

Derrick! You cracked me up. I love this video blog from your band sets. I have been following your pod since it started, from Chesapeake, VA. Keep it going! It is great to hear your thoughts on the sets. A lot of times, we plan so much for sets and never review them (especially right after playing).

Thanks!
