THIRTY TWO

I turn 32 today. Man, at least Trent Austin is older than me. He is my counterpart at the Edmond, OK campus. I think he's like forty something. So, when he is no longer relevant...I know I've got about 10 years left before I call it quits! Ha!

Word Cloud Thingy

A friend showed me this cool website, Wordle where you can upload a rss feed or whatever text you want and it configures a word cloud. I made one from the Swerve blog feed. Pretty cool...and fun...who knew? Check it out here.

Too Close To Home...

I just found out via Twitter that Greg Laurie (a well known pastor) just lost his son in an auto accident. He left behind a child, and a pregnant wife. WOA! I've got a child and a pregnant wife. Makes me really think about how fragile life is, and wonder if my life insurance is good enough.

I've been praying for the Laurie family, that God would give them thick, tangible grace in their loss. I can't imagine how much hurt they must be feeling. Please pray for them.

7,000 Seats Filled With Screaming Women

Last week I went to Ft. Worth, TX for my wife's company's national rally. She has a home business selling Premier Designs Jewelry. I go to the national rally each year as part of the entertainment.

This is a HUGE contrast to my normal week. I go from working in a progressive church setting, to a business setting but with a contemporary church feel. The production level is huge. Every time we go on stage, a team of people mic us up, using tiny wireless headsets and tegaderm adhesive. The production level is crazy huge!

There were two things that grabbed my heart while I was there. We heard from missionaries in over 70 countries who Premier supports. It was awesome to hear what God is doing around the globe and here in the states as well.

Also, every rally, there is a huge patriotic performance. This year, I came out to do a solo to an older song called, "Somebody's Praying You Through." The stage was set up with about 75 men and women who have lost someone in the military or currently have a loved on serving abroad. The narrator talked about honoring those we lost, and their families left behind. I about lost it! I had to pray for God to make me a cold-hearted unemotional butt-hole just to make it through the song! Anyway, here are a few pics of my time last week!

At The Movies - Lifechurch.tv Tulsa Campus

Each year our church does a series called "At The Movies." This is a series that actually promotes a lot of growth for the summer. Each of our campuses decorates their lobby and we sort of have a little competition going.

With over 90 hours put in by the staff, and over 50 volunteers, some coming right after work every day....we put some time in!

Here are some pics and a quick video of what we did last week. Click on THIS LINK to look at my Flickr photostream of the ATM pics.
